It will not freeze at the tech shop. I'll pull it. Why? My local tech shop recommends, and I use, Avast! The file browser (Windows Explorer I think it's called) was being retarded with folder view settings. FWIW...

The only thing that bugs me at this point is something that probably isn't anything more than me being overly worried about minor details. I may take the HDD and ask him if he can fairly quickly (~30min or so) scan it for any errors that might occur. Try changing video adapters. That sort of crept into my mind from what the repair guy said, so I may try that this weekend, I have a spare drive I just acquired the other day. I'm wondering if you solved it or if anyone has this issue and solved it. Well most likely you have a virus that is causing this.
