After I have installed windows 8 each time I select windows 7 in the boot menu it takes too long to load windows 7. If they are not necessary then remove them from startup, or put on delayed startup if they are necessary but not too important. The icons come like a minute later coupled with the windows startup sound. Delete that file and the next time you reboot your computer, it will rebuild that file but it will be a smaller size and help make your computer load icons faster. The easiest fix for now is to kill the COM Surrogate process, and sometimes the thumbnail will generate, but sometimes not.
