I have been using text edit as a work around. Then it restarted then and there. I'd run CHKDSK on all drives to be sure it isn't a drive error. Check for Windows updates (via Start button > all programs > Windows Update) and software updates if the software is running in the background.

That’s why I run SFC every time I load any major update so it records the changes and knows what files and their sizes are supposed to be present. Try it if that happens to you. Hopefully that will solve my issue, cause I hardly use my computer. I wonder if it's something with the live update (as I assume it always try to check for a new versions before the scan) ??

Once I get the Welcome screen all is fine and the laptop reacts as it should. this update sure freaked me out when I thought my applications were all deleted :P. So, yes, I only have 4 gb, so I ordered the extra 4. Notes i cant even open.
