As you can see, the HKLM desktop location does have a 'Wallpaper' key but with no value? I then found the place where you're supposed to edit your desktop background and I clicked an image I wanted and saved it and everything but the background was still black. Other included wallpapers in lower level folders of that path. Works fine now!! But I can only select - either only 1 wallpaper picture - or a folder, where all pictures are used as wallpaper set (I can't any more just select only certain Unfortunately there's no way to figure out what set it unless you're monitoring the registry with something like Process Monitor at the time that it gets set :( Glad to hear
