I attached the main SATA cable to the other hard drive in an attempt to get VISTA installed on that drive. I have xp on a flash drive but can't use as wont come up. The power supply will shut itself off before it sends any power to an U accepting device. now here is where it gets interesting.

It goes through bootup sequence, looks like its going to boot up properly since everything lights up and disk drives work. If placing the memory card in another slot does not work then the problem lies with the memory card itself. My computer would power on, then power off on its own just a few seconds later then power on again. thanks for everyone's help. Could two memory cards go bad at once? it should hopefully work. be sure the sata wires are in order, there are sata ports on the MB which are numbered , be sure to put port #1 for the OS drive then it

Everything works like a charm. I can access the hard drive if I use a vista restore disk, then run repair (which it says its a hareware problem cant repair this problem). Sorry There was an error emailing this page. I had the same problem (no usb, monitor etc.).
Yes, you can download an iso of windows and put that on a dvd or usb. Cranked up fans and it was all good. Best wishes!
