So i added a second language (German) it does seem a bit of a problem but not in the same way as the orginal problem. On my machine with both word 2003 and word 2007, every time I opened a word doc it would open in 2003 but I wanted 2007. It can't be recorded because in Word, F12 is the Save As key.
