I have been experiencing the same on Win7 - 64 bit. Double click on (Default) and replace %SystemRoot%\SysWow64\shell32.dll with %SystemRoot%\system32\windows.storage.dll in both file destinations, then restart your PC and everything should work fine!! tried messing around in registry... Before installing 'DesktopOK', when I 'restarted' after 'sleep' mode, the resolution was changed and my icons forgot where they were ... My asus f555u laptop is currently going through a reset and this screen has shown up. My desktop will not load and windows opens a new temporary desktop with only a few of my icons.
I have 31 desktop icons, but 22 of them are groups with as few as 5 icons in a group to 25 icons in a group.
